Day 25: sucks, but it's so true

23:10

It's 50 minutes to midnight and I haven't written a single word today. I will get as much done as possible, but I am resigned to believe that I won't be making the daily goal.
Sucks, but so true.

So, I'm writing from (you guessed it) NEW POVS!
No, I haven't finished Samdagas' chapter, but jumping around helps me plot the finish of this book out. I've never finished a novel before, so the more I get an idea of the finish, the better.
In fact, I'm probably going to write the last few chapters soon and then work backwards. Whatever works, right?
So in this chapter, we have Uslo, a scholarly scholar, and Songbird, Uslo's mischievous, bard friend. I am attempting to write some solid characters onto the page, even though they are temps, who will not fall flat and 2D. I've been doing a lot of reading on how to make 3D characters, so I hope they leap off the page better than my attempts at doing the same with Garnet and Nee.
Now, without further ado, I away to my word document.

23:59
I made it to 41,332 words, which is roughly 300-something off from the 41,666 goal. But ah well. As of midnight, I will be 2001 words behind, which is not that bad.
It feels weird for me to be tying Write This Down in with Hopelost, simply because it fits, but it doesn't. Ugh. It's hard to explain.
I may scrap the idea after NaNo and make this a stand alone piece. I don't know. We'll see. If that happens, then I might have to rename Elai...
And then I'll have to screw around with Hopelost, which will be fun. I already know how the damn book ends anyway.
I really, really want to finish Write This Down, even after NaNo. Then I want to pick up one of my über crappy books from when I was little and write that, because some of my story concepts were great even if my writing sucked. And I know that 'my past self would be so happy'. My past self always wanted to finish and publish a book, but never did so. And I don't want to disappoint me.
If that makes sense... I don't know...
What sort of books did you guys write back then? Ever finish any? Think maybe it's time you revisited that story and made it better?
