NaNo Day 29: It came like a nightmare, and it ended like a dream.

It came like a nightmare, and it ended like a dream.
- Write This Down -

Oh, this has been hard.
I just can't relate to a guy getting his legs amputated in a time without anesthesia. Or with.
I hope I do it justice.

ONE DAY MORE! Then NaNo is over.
But not my book.
Still hoping to end December 12th but probably won't. Considering that I have 8 chapters left to do in 13 days.

NaNo Day 28: I want to die! And he meant it with every fiber he had left in his being.

I want to die! And he meant it with every fiber he had left in his being.
-Write This Down-

Not much to say really. Sorry.
Again, I have been jumping between chapters 12, 13, and 14. I am still undecided on their order. Chapters 12 and 14 are going the best. 13, I am still confused about its plot.

I have a new book, in its entirety, forming in my mind. Two main characters, a third side-character, potentially three other minors. A plot. Key objects. The whole nine and three quarters yards. It's a very bizarre genre/setting mashup. But I think Dawny and Star will approve cause they like Aztec names, and def one of the main characters is named Quetzalcoatl. But that is all I'm giving away :p
It's hard, because I need to work on Orpheus Rising, the Missile List, a possible third novel, and of course, my AoT fanfic.
Ugh.
But here comes Project number 5 and I'm all "meh. I need to work on my current novel. Stop plot bunnies, stop!"
I am definitely going to take THOROUGH notes though as the story forms. Since the others are kind of floating and not formed completely (except the fanfic) then I probably could use a fully flushed novel to write next.

That's all for tonight.

NaNo Day 27: “Your hand is sweaty. Please let go.”

“Your hand is sweaty. Please let go.”
 - Write This Down -

I made my wordcount. All it took was jumping between three chapters. Ugh.
So there is a NEW Falgarith. Say whaaaat? That makes a total of three Falgariths in Write This Down. The Falgarith that goes around with Elai, the dead guy, and now the Archer. Whoot!
I LOVE Falgariths.
Archer is actually developing into the Falgarith I originally imagined for this book. Ah well.
It's odd writing him though, cause as far as I have written, he has more expressions and feelings than typical Falgariths. He chalks it up to having spent so much time with humans that it's rubbing off on him.

Okay, anyway... um... no chapters to be released to wattpad yet cause the going is slow.
But soooon. Soon, there will be more to read.
Not that anyone has really read Chapter 11 yet.

NaNo Day 25: Meruse ripped his sword out of Edic’s chest, ignoring the harsh laughter that followed him around the room. He dragged the three girls from their pathetic hiding places under the bed, and he cut their throats. Still, Edic laughed. Laughed and laughed until Meruse grabbed him by the hair and sawed his still laughing head off his neck.

So, Meruse is now a badass. Yay.

Reminder to self: add FLCL to "need to watch" list of anime.
Yah.

I need to get crack-a-lackin on that anime watching thing. Yah. Definitley.

NANO LAMENT 1
that moment when your brain won't stop

Y'all be blessed with a more rewarding blog title today.

I finished Chapter 11 at 28,000+ words.
Officially the longest chapter. I need to make a "longest chapter" award.
Sorry Chapter with Lohk, yousa in second place now.

And Chapter 12 is going to be a toss up between a new POV character named Godlumthakathi, our favorite pretty boy Arsemi, or the ever reluctant hero Meruse who is such a tag along that he almost demands a chapter just to make him useful.

Named two characters Godlumthakathi in the same month. SCORE!

Nano Day 23: And because of that…

And because of that…
- Write This Down -

And this is another "uninspired quotes from Write This Down"

But besides these uber sucky blog titles, I have decent news. My uninspiration has actually decreased, and I managed to get a lot of Chapter 11 rewritten with better quality, fixed the transitions, put in the missing battle scenes, etc, etc, etc. It should be finished tomorrow. Yay!

And then I get to face the interesting yet totally frightening concept of writing COMPLETELY new material without any plot or outline whatsoever. D:

Wow, and I thought I was a total pantser. Now I'm actually a little nervous about pantsing. Probably because this book is too intricate to just pants along with. Ahhhh!

So much to be fixed during revision D:

Also, Chapter 11 is now the longest chapter yet. Unfinished, it stands currently at: 26,382.
I expect at the most it will be at about 27,100 words. I only have the ending scene to finish, which really should not gross 1000 words. But it might.

Chapter 12 is going to be returning to the now combined Kah/Keenah/Meruse/Falgarith/Elai arc D: 5 important peeps in one spot, ermg. It will be from Meruse's POV, by the way.

And for any of you wanting some epic words of inspiration tonight, here they are:

Do all of you really want… to win that badly? You all want the Grail that desperately? You’d crush the only wish I hold in my heart… Do none of you feel any shame at all? I won’t forgive you! I won’t forgive any of you for this! All of you monsters who’d disregard a knight’s honor for personal gain… Let my blood taint your dreams! Let the Grail be cursed. Let the wish it grants bring disaster! And when you fall into the pits of hell… Remember the rage of Diarmuid!

- Diarmuid - Fate/Zero -

Who is scarily close to my character on Aisthesis, Gwaine Scrivener. Seriously. For the first few times I saw Lancer especially, I thought, "WTF? It's Gwaine! You both have Arhturian European names, you both are knights/knightley with the whole honor/valor system, you love a lady out of your league, you guys talk and act the same, and you both hang out with the blonde chick."
It's kind of weird, but on aisthesis, my character Gwaine is like a... slightly more awkward Diarmuid. And when I made him, I used a pciture of Cuchlann (Lancer from Fate/stay night), and later upgraded to a picture of Diarmuid. I had NO IDEA who either person was back then (I just liked the pics) and lo and behold, when I finally get around to watching the anime, Gwaine is pretty much a replica of Diarmuid (albiet a little more flustered when he's around Anat because he loves her), but nevertheless, pretty much a replica.
Obviosuly there are the occasional differences, but it's just TOO many similarities. Like wow.

Ok, rant over.
Go watch Fate/Zero.
El fin.

NaNo Day 22: “I will be, in a moment,” she replied.

“I will be, in a moment,” she replied.
- Write This Down -

OMGGGG!
Okay, so, I finished Fate/Zero. That is a good. I am now going to work on Fate/stay night.
Sigh.

But that's not important. What is important is that I am facing MASSIVE MENTAL BURNOUT!!! This REALLY SUCKS!
I am very uninspired, but I think that was mostly because of just this chapter in particular. I will be starting chapter 12 now, and it will be completely unplanned fresh and new stuff, so hopefully that will help.
Otherwise I am in a LOT of trouble.
Burnout like this usually happens when you try to cram tons of wordcount into a few days.
What I might wind up doing to preserve the length of the book and the measure of my sanity is cut out a few chapters. But I WILL let the story direct me on that note. I don't want to cut things that might be important. If I HAVE to, then I WILL extend my deadline (the current deadline is Dec. 12) I'm not going to sacrifice the quality of the book for quantity of words.
I am trying to give my brain more breaks with little rewards like watching anime and things. Hopefully the weather will get better so that I can go on more hikes. Those are better for my brain anyway.

NaNo Day 21: What?

What?
-Write This Down-

And that's about as inspired as I feel.

Seriously, I was literally dragging my feet with writing today. I barely managed to crank out 1664 words today. And that's three less than the NaNo daily, and I can't even bother to write three more. I really am that meh.
So rather than force myself, I'm going to give in to my brain and stop for the night before I kill my desire to write this thing entirely.
And I will give myself a break and watch some anime...

NaNo Day 20: He did not believe in the afterlife, but how he wished he did now.

He did not believe in the afterlife, but how he wished he did now.
-Write This Down-

So, I had a convo with a person (name withheld) in a chatango box, and they were saying SAO was the BEST anime of all time and they HATED Attack On Titan. So I wrote the following.

ATTACK ON TITAN VERSUS SWORD ART ONLINE

I think it's one of the greatest because of the incredibly complex characters, the complete lack of sexism, and the complete lack of fanservice. it's refreshing to see an anime that relies solely on plot and characters to drive it and not the overt sexualization of incompetent women who are clueless without their boyfriends or the ridiculous and overused trope of tons of women fawning over one guy for literally no reason all in the name of the creator's wish fulfillment fantasy. I like how it brings interesting concepts and makes u question things, such as the question of "does humankind need the presence of monsters in order to survive?" as well as the age old but seldom explored device of "man is man's worst enemy". I like how the characters struggle to survive DESPITE the overwhelming odds, and despite being small and weak and fragile compared to the titans, they still persevere and adapt new ways to survive and fight, even against these supposedly immortal nigh invincible creations. It takes the time to present the point that all humans are important and no one's lives are meaningless or should be thrown away carelessly like they are disposable, a very interesting point presented in anime/manga such as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Gantz (though brotherhood dealt with it best while I believe Gantz did worse, the manga by the way, talk about a f*ed up ending)
But I digress. Those are just some of the reasons why I love Attack on Titan and believe it is one of the best anime of all time.
Granted, every show has its flaws, and while they do use the still shots in there and sometimes the objects look pasted on the scenery, it's hardly as bad as, say, Berserk. And the plot may be a little slow, but at least they decided to just slow it down a little while they waited for the other volumes of manga to come out, rather than resort to shoving filler and other stuff in.

Oh, SAO. a very interesting premise with a great pilot that fell very flat in later episodes. The main character is far too OP to be appealing. The main female starts off badass, but then turns into a whiny female who can't do anything without her boyfriend. All the other females can't do anything without kirito. The suggested wincest. The tentacle porn rape.
And so many other things.
SAO rides on a hype wave too big for itself and its overinflated head is kind of insulting to other gems of anime that get lost to obscurity because of the fan-fad.

Wrote 4529 words today! WHOOOO!
According to wordkeeper, I have 69,827 left of my book to write. But I have a feeling it's going to be a little more than that, considering several of the chapters in this thing. Especially the ones involving battles.
But Chapter 11 is in full swing, and we are JUST at the brink of the war scene. So much EXCITEMENT! No spoilers, but it is going to be a VERY SAD battle. I feel so bad, omg o.o

Sort of.
So, Chapter 11!!!!!! I am an excited person. Chapter 10 is on wattpad for those who follow me.

Chapter 11 features a cynical guard, a non-cliche garden, and lots of stairs. Staaaaaaaairs. Whoo!
There's obviously more than that. Haha! For those who read Chapter 10, you probably know what to expect coming up soon. This is just the quiet before the storm.

P.S. it's not a real storm \ ( 0 o 0 ) /

LATER EDIT:

Dawny started me down the memory lane. She randomly commented on me forgetting all yalls when I go get more rp buddies. And I was all like "Nooooo. I remember my rp friends."

Lightkit: the very first person I rped with.
Lionkit: the first person I rped 'romance' with. As in, our characters had crushes on each other.
Ashi: one of the very first people I rped humans with (other than my brother)
Sakura: very first human romance. Her character Sakura and my character Niitari
Sarah: owner of the super powered circus site. First got into complex love plots and things there.
Shadow/Force: Also on the circus site, but he followed me to my very first zombie rp.
Angel: Was on the zombie rp with us.
Samantha: this was her or her character, but she rped with Angel and I in this one plot
Storm: was on the circus site. She had a character who controlled weather.
Alex: he was on the circus site and rped a character of the same name
Crystal: rped with me on the very first Wheredreamsarereality. Her character Crystal killed my character, the first time one of my characters died, my villain Taaro. They fought and Crystal shapeshifted into a bear and ate him. And from his death, Serith was created.
Mystique: "my love mystique". Was on an old demigod site. She and my character Arkadi did so much together.
Maddy: we met on Mercury Boarding School. Maddy was always doing the horrible rps with me. All the blood and gore. I miss Maddy a lot ;-;
Sen/Sin: these two were... odd... but very creative
Concorde: ERMG! SWEET CONCORDE! We had one AMAZING mindf**k of an rp. I cannot remember what happened to Concorde or if they changed their name and I totally am friends with them but can't remember or what. But Concorde was also on Mercury Boarding School. It was funny, cause in the OC, my name was Bring Me A Shrubbery, and theirs was Concorde, and yes, the Monty Python references were rampant.
Kiba: I also rped with Kiba on Mercury Boarding School.
Kovu: Kovu or Karu? I regret to say I forget. But he rped with Kiba and I on MBS when it first started dying. (it was then revamped, thrived, then was deleted)
Sam: A pain in my butt, but a very dedicated rper :p . Was a hardcore Hellsing fan.
Elza; yall met her. I met her on the same demigod site where I met Sam and Mystique.
Mania: Same thing, I think. We've known each other for a while O.O
Shady: I forget where I met her, but we've known each other a long time too. About as long as Mania and I know each other. We've had lots of adventures and awesome characters (Shady and Dreadknightmare, Train and Anarawd, etc)
Beachstar, Poppy, Crystal, Datinsaneperson: all from Eternity Waters

IN SHORT:
I will not forget you guys. Even if I'm in my thirties looking for a new batch of rp buds, I will always remember you. Maybe not names and faces, but I will remember characters and stories and so much more.
Seriously, people like Ashi are from 9 years ago, and I still remember that o.o

I haven't been consistent with blogging, but my writing is going well.
I went a liiiiiittle over my goal for the day. Yay!

I hope to rp some tomorrow. Maybe. If I'm lucky.

My goal, really and truly, is to go ahead enough over my goal that it demands only 2500 from me every day. That would be really nice :3

I miss watching anime. Ugh. Please end Nano. And novel. I want to be released >.<

But as much as it frustrates me, I LOVE it! Cranking out the count is rough, but the story...... I love it ^^ I can't believe I'm enjoying it this much. ^^

So that's a good thing.

I probably should go make more, but I just love Dawny and Mania and Star and Cel and Liam and Lighty and Fili and Kiba and Kshi and Sergal and all the other people that would take a while for me to list. So I have been falling a little bit behind every day...
It's not something to be proud of.
But tomorrow I should finish Chapter 9 and get to some action. Action is always easier to write than the rest (for me at least).
This just means I have another chapter to be heavily edited during the revision month o.o

In other news... naughty little me has been watching anime. Specifically Fate/Zero. I probably mentioned that I finished Yu-Gi-Oh at one point. Well, now I'm moving on.
I have lots of trouble writing multiple characters. These Fate/Zero people do it flawlessly.
But I think that's because they are bouncing back and forth between the same number of people as plot, action, etc allows them, whereas I am trapped in one person's head for one chapter, and I only have one chapter to make or break that character.
Ah, dilemmas.

NaNo Day 10: He had no sense of self left to pursue his own freedom.

He had no sense of self left to pursue his own freedom.
 - Write This Down -

I got 2574 words done today. Yaaaaaayyyyy.....
So, nothing much to say.
Chapter 9 should be finishing soon ish maaaaaaybe. Depends on if I decide to have anything uber exciting happen. I suppose having everyone banding together is interesting in its own way, but nearly as interesting as Chapter 10 is going to be.

I realized today that I have lots of work to do come revision time. With how everything is developing and changing around, a lot of the earlier chapters need to be tweaked to accommodate. Details, details. A lot of details need to be made better known. Such as having Kah unaware of the stuff going on in Chapter 2 is grossly inaccurate of his character in Chapter 9. I also hope to flush out a better way of distinguishing him. His character seems flat to me. It's probably my imagination, but I don't know.
You know what I love about switching POVs? Seeing my characters through different eyes.

We see the Falgarith through four sets (so far) and Kah through two (his own and Keenah's). In that respect, I suppose anyone with a POV chapter at least sees themselves. But it's just... the contrast is so intriguing. Here in Chapter 2, Kah sees himself as a well off person, busy and sleepless, who goes about trying to balance his work with his desire to be back with his master again. But from Keenah, well, she sees this as a weakness because he denied himself his own freedoms.

That's just a little bit. I can't say too much as I'm tired and heading for bed. But I just think it's interesting. A lot of people actually suggest writing about your main character from other people's POVs as practice and stuff, and I now see the validity of such. Though maybe I'm tearing down Kah toooooo much. He is a strong person despite being flawed. I need to point that out too before I totally destroy him through Keenah's eyes xD

On another side note, I put up a little blurb on wattpad concerning a future fanfic called "The Cry of Shiganshina". Yah, a fanfic. Shocking, isn't it? I don't like writing fanfics, but this one came to me about a month ago, and it won't rest. So after NaNo and Write This Down are over, I'll be working on TCOS. :3
Also on my list are "Orpheus Rising" and "The Missile List". I have another book rolling around in my mind, but we shall see about that. I think TCOS, OR, and TML take precedence.

That's all for now. Night night, minions.

P.S.
Covers for The Cry of Shiganshina.... because I can...

NaNo Day 9: “You trust me do you?”

“You trust me do you?”
-Write This Down-

You trust me to finish this novel, do you?
Well... I sure hope I do...

Anyway.

So, uh, I hit my wordcount today. Yaaaaay. Let's hope I keep it up. I'm getting more in tune with Keenah and things are getting easier to write. Which is also a good. I am halfway done with Chapter 9 (unless it turns into a bloated monstrosity like Chapter 8 was)

MY NOVEL IS IN TOTAL AT EXACTLY 103,457 WORDS, MAKING IT THE LONGEST NOVEL I'VE EVER WRITTEN!!!!!!!
And it's not even halfway done yet o.o

Kshi is now my bud on NaNo WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Aaaand, hmm, what else? Well, I uh... joined this rp and finally named a character Godlumthakathi. It's an African name that means "he who holds back the wizard". I love that name...

And I also finished watching Yu-Gi-Oh! the original series. Now to eagerly await as LittleKuriboh makes the abridged version..... *still waiting*

I plan to watch Fate/Zero when I have the time and finish it. It is SOOOOOO good omGGGOGGGG! Yall should watch it if you haven't already. I want to make an rp based off of it SO bad hory shiiiieeeet.
And maybe I just will xD
A small, controllable one that is. Can't take all the glory away from my (slow and slightly inactive) Aisthesis and my (very much empty) Skyrim.
Eh, who am I kidding? Everyone's too busy anyway xD

I also realized that by hiding the Siberia boards on Aisthesis, I eliminated a very VERY important rp concerning myself and Cel.

ooops.

sorry cel ;-;

NaNo Day 8:

Nothing got written today D:

I was just so busy, omg D: I feel terrible about not writing anything, but there was nothing I could do about it. Tomorrow I will definitely be working on Chapter 9. To start, I will need to get more notes taken and probably do some one shot things or something cause I am NOT feeling the character right now. So I will need to spend some time working on her before I really sit down and crank stuff out.

For those of you following the book on wattpad, this chapter is from Keenah's POV and actually does NOT have fighting in it (from what I planned so far). At the very least, there's no blood and gore. The past three chapters had stuff like that with Chapter 8 being VERY blood and gore heavy, so it's a little change of pace now.

But the cool thing is that I will be uniting some arcs together, specifically, Kah, Meruse, Keenah, Falgarith, and Elai are all going to meet up together. That's a lot, wow, but at least they will all get some more screen time from here on out.

Peace out, minions!

EDIT

Came back to actually SAY something...

So, some of Chapter 9 and 10 was written today. I also extended my end date on WordKeeper to Dec 12 so that I can take some of the pressure off of me. I have to actually do a lot of research and note taking for these chapters, and keeping up with that AND writing 5000 words a day was mentally exhausting. I was already experiencing mental burnout. So by Liam's suggestion, I extended the end date to Dec. 12th. This does not effect NaNo at all. I'll still be ending over 50k on schedule.

So, I managed to FINALLY finish (albeit rushed) Chapter 8 as well as a rewrite of the ending for Chapter 7. I posted both to wattpad.

Now for Chapter 9, wherein we step into the rather rough and ragged boots of Keenah as she sets to meet Kah and his Falgarith master up North in Icefall, which if y'all remember, was around the same spot where Garnet was in Chapter 3.
It's been a while since I did the Kah-Meruse/Keenah arc, so it's nigh time we got back to it.

19:03 PM
I finally did it!
So, on the third day of NaNo, I had no brain power whatsoever. Determined to meet a word count of some kind, I typed out plot. That was it. It was the saddest thing ever. It looked something like this.

It was big and scary. He stabbed it. It screamed and lurched back, then swiped at him. He decapitated it. "Curses," he cursed, because he totally missed the thing's jab at his side and now it was hurting like crazy. It was bleeding too. But not much. Just a little. It still sucked. He was not happy about it.

Eew.
So I have been spending the past two days rewriting aaaaaaaallllll of that stuff. Ya know, making it longer and pretty and actually worthwhile.
I FINALLY finished. It was long and arduous and exhausting and I'm never doing that again. Ugh.
Oh wait, December is revision month shiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeet.

In other news, this is the longest fracking chapter ever. Holy crap. It is just about halfway done and guess how long it is? Guess.

You props did/n't guess it. It's exactly (as of this moment in time) 13,700 words.
That's 200 words longer than Chapter 7, and Chapter 7 is a completed chapter (give or take the very last scene which needs some tweaking up to actually sound better).

*ugh*

I still have about 3669 words left to write tonight, so I must now go.

But Ihnk was not to be dismayed.
- Write This Down -

So, that being said, NANOOOOOOO!!!!

I HAVE been diligently writing every day and meeting my word count, but I have been too busy to actually get blog posts written up for it. So here is ONE.

xD

Okay, a real short blurb on anime.

I finished Knights of Sidonia, then watched Walker Romanze, a shameless harem anime that really makes fun out of every bit of it. And it had a very good ending to boot. It's about an ex-Knight who works as a stablehand in a Jousting School, and all the Knights (the harem) are fighting over him to be their strategist for the tournament in the summer. It's cute, it's fun, it's funny, and of course, lots of fan service. I just love how it embraces itself. A lot of harems out there try to almost hide the harem, as if they can pull the wool over our eyes and be all "it's not reeeaaaaally a harem...." Baka. That's sort of how Knights of Sidonia felt to be honest. Like, there was action and stuff, but it didn't feel like anyone was REALLY in danger, the characters were kinda flat, and EVERY female (just about) wanted to get in the main guy's pants. *sigh*

I digress.

Walkure Romanze just embraced its own genre and had an absolute ball. You can really feel it too. It was great for a short, weekend binge ^^

And theeeeen there was Gokukoku no Brynhildr (aka Brynholdr in Darkness). It's kind of a mix of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Code: Breaker. I don't want to say anymore because anything else would feel like a spoiler. But WOW. It is bloody, gory, sad, depressing, but good. Aaaaand it's kinda harem-ish. There's a harem there, but that isn't the focus. The romance and fan service bits are actually kept to the parts where there is no major action or anything, so it actually works. It's not like "ooo, cool fight scene fighting and stuff PANTY SHOT". It's actually kept to its own scenes where you won't be distracted by it randomly.

So yah. It was good. Oh, and the opening sequence is v cool. O.O Go check it out ^^

The ending was very... unfulfilling though. But definitely give it a watch despite.

After that, it's kind of a toss up. I started Fate/Zero which is HELLA AWESOME HORY SHIIIEEEETTTT!!!!

But then I kinda stopped, forget why, and I started watching Yu Gi Oh. No, not the children's card game. That's Duel Monsters. I mean the very first Yu Gi Oh where Kaiba has green hair.

And on that note, I leave you with these memes I made. Enjoy ^^ Maybe next time i'll talk about my actual book, but no chance of that tonight.

This isn't a meme, but worth showing.

I intend to make more. There's just too much material here xD

I finish the day with 3379 words. That's about 800 below my target goal for the day, but I started far too late. My word count per day is now at 4071. My NaNo total is now 13,575.
