Writing This Down

I am back in the groove of working on Write This Down. I have given myself a goal: if I can finish 75% of the novel at the very least, then I will reward myself by starting a new book for this year's NaNo.

I found a WONDERFUL word count tracker for books. These things are bae. It is a lot like the one used for NaNo, but you can track the progress of multiple projects at once and all sorts of other things. So if you like to write, go check it out! CLICK HERE!

So far I have written 2000 words today! WHOOT! I have set the word tracker of my book to get me aaaaalll the way to the end of the novel. If I write 5k a day, I can finish it by October 31st. The whole book, not just 75%. That would be super cool. It would be my first ever completed novel. I am going to try this best as I can.

Familiars Workshop is coming together all right. I am rather torn about the Avatars though. Will people get bored if all they are collecting are different faces generated by the exact same avatar maker? I am looking into bringing other avatar makers in to see if that will help add some diversity.

Speaking of avatar makers and rinmaru, I have not updated Whence Midnight Comes. I am a naughty poob. Oh well. The plot is very messy right now and I might need to remake the early chapters and things. Plus the limitations of scenery and stuff is really getting to me. *sigh* I shall try to salvage everything.... later...

SIMS IS DA BOMB . COM! I have officially sold my soul! I love it so much, I missed it too much. *sigh*
Maybe if I feel up to it I will share some of them here. Idk what people are interested in though. My blog is a lonely corner of the internet. Mostly cause I am a very uninteresting person who never updates xD

MY Top Ten Anime Openings

Again, this is MY top ten list based on anime I have seen. Your lists and opinions will vary, but at least give the music a good listen to, and who knows. Maybe from it, you will want to watch a new anime that you did not consider before ^^
Also remember that my opinion may change, as this is based on anime I have seen and which openings have stuck with me. So it may change in the future.
Without further ado, let's go.

OPENINGS

10. Nonsense Afterimage - Blassreiter
I put it tenth because I love it, but not that much.
The beginning opens on motorcycle racing, because under the explosions, demons, moral dillemmas, power tripping, PG-13 sex scenes, blood, death, murder, rampages, and apocalypses... it's a motorcycle anime.
But then the opening is like "Yah, we got some deep stuff going on. Better pay attention to that too, fools! We 'bout to blow yo minds!"
Plus it's fun.
Play away.

9. Howling - Darker Than Black
Just the fact that the song itself begins with "Now I've lost it - I know I can kill - The truth exists beyond the gate" ... that right there is AWESOME!
Total foreshadowing done right and pretty much summing up the entire series in three sentences.
Now go find out what those sentences mean!
From the studio that brought you Fullmetal Alchemist comes a gripping tale of emotionless murderers called Contractors who sell themselves to the Gate in exchange for powers. But every power comes with a price. ;)
The opening is all about the foreshadowing, and of course, showing off Hei, one of the most ambiguous main characters in anime. Around the last episode, you had more questions than answers. And you are left wondering.
Still wondering...
But check out this awesome song!

8. Tank! - Cowboy Bebop
It's a jazz opera. Fitting that it opens with some jazz.
The style, the music, the movement, the text, the color: everything blends together and sweeps you on a nostalgic ride of the future. You got guns and babes and starships and clubs. This is a unique opening that appealed to viewers from both sides of the ocean, and it is, perhaps, one of the most perfect anime openings ever.

7. Again - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
The soft voice that breaks out in rap, images of a journey we've yet to fully experience... it's such a sweet opening that feels oddly enough like the calm before the storm. We see happy faces and things one moment, then children being ripped apart and explosions the next. Foreshadowing? Of course. And then, as we get to know the meaning behind each face, it becomes, a little sadder as we go along.
And you gotta admit, it's hella catchy!

6. Main Theme - Le Portrait de Petite Cossette
Haunting. Beautiful. Bizarre. Sung in a made up language, this song seems, technical wise, to have no real meaning to the show. But when you think about it, it set out to do what it meant: haunt you. In a very gentle way. This theme song sets the stage for the obsessive and bloody romance that is between Cosstette and Eiri. And those strange instruments in the background seem to float you away to a strange and forbidden place that is that nightmare scene of sacrifice.
I apologize, it did not have an official opening, but the following song is the main theme music and definitely deserves mention as it plays throughout many parts of the anime.

5. Kuusou Mesorogiwi - The Future Diary
All the openings to this show were brilliant, insane, and brutal as all get out. Such a gorgeous compliment to a truly disturbed anime. I give them kudos for that. While I did stop watching Future Diary as it was not my cup of tea, watching the openings does make me want to watch the show again... which I probably will.
I say Kuusou Mesorogiwi because that was the first opening and the one that got me hooked, line and sinker and all. So while all three were brilliant epics, I list this one in at number six.

4. What's Up People - Death Note
Everyone points to the first opening as their favorite, but nothing screams Death Note like this screamo song.
What's Up People is the opening of the second season, and while it is a loud, gritty screamo song, it and the images with it PERFECTLY depict the sudden spiral into chaos that the show became. While the first half of the season started with a more easy going rock song, it was better suited to the godly ascension to narcisistic power that Light was attaining, but cut to the second season, and we don't see that anymore. We see the madness that Light truly embraces, that sick, dark, psychopathic void he dives headfirst into. And What's Up People, in all its loud, colorful, maddening glory, perfectly depicts that spiral.

3. Katayoku no Tori - Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Coming in with an epic score, Katayoku no Tori is a combination of languages, symphony, song, and sight that perfectly sets you up for an exciting ride that is Umineko. With flashes of imagery that suggest darkness, magic, and sorrow, it may not let you know of the gruesome surprises in store, but it sure bodes the question: what sort of anime could have such a momentous entrance? Umineko everyone. Umineko.
I have nothing too much to say about this without sounding over the top cheesy, so... just watch the video and see for yourself.

2. Attack on Titan - Attack on Titan
WANNA GO FIGHT SOME TITANS????
YOU WILL NOW!!!!!
Grab your capes and unsheathe your blades. It's about to get epic up in here!
WANT SOME EPIC WITH A SIDE OF YOUR EPIC?

1. Karma - Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom
Just... go watch the damn video....
And all will be revealed.
Every piece is a part of a puzzle. Every image and word. Everything everything EVERYTHING is foreshadow! Everything is stunning and beautiful and put together so well! The music sounds like something you sing in the rain when you are most likely thinking of something deep and dark and dangerous. What better music for the mindless puppet assassins of the underworld.
Enjoy.

And that's all for now. Stay tuned for my favorite anime endings!

All Them Lovely Missing Limbs

Agh! Internet is being a butt! And just when I don't have work to do.

I have been spending a good chunk of my time today adding anime to my "Need to Watch" list. I need to STOP! For a while, I was doing really well. In just a few weeks I went through about three series. But then I added about seven to the list. Like seriously, I have seen 41 anime, and there is 64 on my "To See" list. And it does NOT help that I have been very lazy about watching the current series I'm on, Kemono no Souja Erin. It's 50 episodes and I'm only on number four. And it's been a WEEK! Four episodes in a WEEK! Cause usually I watch two episodes at a time at the least, but now I've just been really lazy and watched one at a time just about. Tonight I must remedy that.

So I am officially gathering Beta Testers for my new game/rp site Familiars Workshop. Cel and Dawny are the two I have now. I need to get hardcore cracking down on that thing... Get more stuff finished.

Aisthesis is going...
Just going.
I NEED TO GET THAT MEETING STARTED OMG!!!! *flails*
Speaking of Aisthesis, I am actually plottings for a spinoff series for a possible short story collection. The working title idea is Void of the Oasis, but I keep changing the name, so it probably won't stay that way. I also keep tangling the idea up with my other story idea Nachtgarten der Hunde, so I really don't know how anything is going to turn out anymore.

AND OMG!
I FOUND IT!
THE IMAGE I'VE ALWAYS WANTED!
**warning: might be a graphic o.o

I have ALWAYS wanted an anime picture of a guy who is an amputee. It sounds REALLY WEIRD, I know, but I have amputee characters (as well as former amputee but now they have fake limbs or former amputee with own limbs reattached) and it is SO HARD to find pics of decent looking amputee anime guys out there. It's not a fetish and I know this pic looks rather weird, like he was obviously abused and stuff. But in a very weird way that I swear isn't psychotic, I am very happy to find a good picture finally.
On another note, this picture is nearly perfect for my one character Azalea because Azalea had his right arm eaten off, and the pic I had to use the whole time was oh-so-cleverly chosen where the character's right arm was hidden from view.
Or I may have abandoned hope and given in to say it was his left arm.
But anyways, the above one is MICH better (except his eye is no longer missing...)
Either way,  when it came to having amputee characters, I'd have to either find pics like Azalea's or make the character picture amputated myself.
 << my sweet little Severin

But now I am a very happy Nii to finally find a pretty anime picture of an anime character that is a legit amputee.

Okay, joy over. On to serious biz I guess.

So Why Is I So Busy?

That's right. The Niitari turned on their computer and started playing the Sims 2. But while I may have mentioned this earlier, I never REALLY explained what I was doing. (if you dun care, scroll down to the big letters that say RP)

So, I started off playing Sims as I usually do. la-dee-da. And as usual, I was browsing the itnernet for Sims stories when I came across these things called Challenges. Now, I had heard of them before, but only ever the Alphabetacy and the 100 Baby Challenge. But now I was finding new and amazing challenges, ones I never heard of before! I was really pumped up about this. The first new and amazing challenge I found was the Rainbow Challenge. But then I lost focus and got SO bogged down in the story of this one Sim that was not even a main legacy but a random extra of Gen Orange and *sigh* it got rather dull very fast. Cause when I reached the end of that little story, all I wanted to focus on was her and her children, and not my actual main legacy. I was all "Tiger, you suck!" I had plans to make him be in the mafia, which I might still do. We shall seeeeeee. But putting together a story can be long and difficult and just recording a basic challenge is hard as it is.
Oh yes, I am recording them. I have a forums now dedicated to my Sims stories. Proboards is very efficient for that. I was originally doing a blog, but those are hard to organize, so I switched to weebly. But they are limited on space. So now the weebly holds ALL my pictures, and the forums has the actual stories and stuff. Though I have yet to form any semblance of a story for the Rainbow legacy. All I have are notes. Lots and lots of handwritten notes. And then of course there is the dilemma I always face: aliens. I never know if I should have aliens in my lots cause it just REALLY wrecks the realism. Although, naturally purple haired people are weird too, but I watch anime, so... not so much for me.
I'm rambling. Anyway.
I abandoned the Rainbow challenge for now to do some casual play, and my decision was the Who's Your Daddy? Challenge because it completely destroys my super perfectionist style of Sims play. I always want the perfect "boy meets girl, they marry, have kids, and live forever". Worst thing that might happen is a death (but never old age) or someone fights someone else. I literally was the most boring Simmer ever. But now I have to COMPLETELY push the boundaries I set for myself, and I am EMBRACING every minute of it. I have yet to even touch my main neighborhood. The WYD? challenge is where it's at!
So basic of that is: have a Sim. Have her have 26 babies each with a different father. Each baby is named with the letters of the alphabet in consecutive order (ie: first baby's name starts with A, second baby starts with B, etc). I am on baby G. I am determined to finish this challenge and I have been recording every step. Tis a process. o.o

but anyway...

RP
I am finally releasing details to the events progression of the Chapter 4 plot as well as starting events to get the ball rolling for Chapter 5. Chapter 5 will be coming out probably end of October-ish. I am leaving lee-way for delays, but probably not enough.
I am also *sigh* working on a new rp. It has the same vision that I had for Chibi and Master Quest online, but I worked out the actual rules and play system for the most part now and I have been gathering the components I need.
The current working title is Familiars, but I want to change it to something catchier later like Familiars Workshop or something. And I might throw in the Online because it sounds so official xD.

LIFE
Yes. I am looking into colleges. I am going to be going for Animation, specifically 2D animation. I want to make anime. That is all.
