Anime: back to watching Basilisk. When I mentioned previously that this was a mature Naruto...
Yah, it's mature. So much boobage o.o Nothing gratuitous or anything, but on a scale of Attack on Titan to Highschool of the Dead, it's Code Geass.
Also, the politics and the whole Japanese culture and the relationships between characters and the character deaths ;__;

Why, Wolf Children? Why???!!!
It's interesting, because even though it's called Wolf Children and it's told from Yuki's point of view, the story is really about Hana. Which I guess it was always meant to, but I started out thinking it was, yah know, about the kids. But it's really about Hana and a mother's struggle to raise her kids alone and then learning to let them go through love.
And omg their Daddy.... *waaaaaiiiiiilllllllll*

I am collecting titles for a list on Anime To Watch. Please PM me or just chat me up and tell me what to watch. I will try to get to some of them eventually.

I do not want titles that involve graphic nudity (with Ghost in the Shell being an exception since it's not necessarily graphic... at least what I've heard), incest, or generic harem. I don't like generic harem... it's getting old.

Some titles I have been told to go see are Death Note, Deadman Wonderland, Ghost in the Shell, Black Lagoon, Tokyo Ghoul, Fate Zero, Free!, and Kuroku no Basuke (wtf is that spelt, idk >.>). But I would like some more titles to choose from.
Also thinking of Knights of Sidonia which I hear is AoT IN SPACE! or something like that, idk, I saw a scene where a hundred people were splattered against a wall to death, so that counts for something.
But keep suggesting titles to meh!


IN THE RP WORLD....

Aisthesis has their ball. And now the Moonbourne Manor got bombed. So much death! I am very pleased.
Were Myths shall also be experiencing some drama WINK WINK, and I hope to rope in people again with this new plot I present on a blood soaked platter.
Skyrim is at a sort of stalemate since attentions have been drawn to the more pleasurable and hectic rp that is Aisthesis wherein all the characters are kind of shlumped together in one area, so that's always amusing. But Skyrim does have three new members: Kai, Jaz, and Jewel. They are awesome, and a part of me feels bad for not rping with them more, but at the same time, their rp style is so off from mine, that I feel blending together does not sit well. They create relatively OP characters with the intention of fighting everyone and not giving a $h1t about the rest. Which was fun. When I did it. Once. But still, a lot different than what i'm used to, so we'll just have to see.

Land of Desai is open again with rp starting up, albiet slowly.
Hogwarts is opened up again with much the same as Desai.

I have decided to leave Rynoa, that warrior cats site I was rping on. I decided it was not worth my time. I won't bore you with the details.


IN THE REAL WORLD....

So Lief963 (me broski) is graduating from Air Force this weekend. Which means a two day drive down to go see him. Yaaaaay.
I haven't seen him since September, and we parted on less than decent terms. He apologized, but not to my face yet, and idk. It's gonna be weird. >.<

So I MIGHT get internet at the hotel, but I don't know how online I will be in that time. I will definitely not be rping as much as I'd like to.

I Finished Attack on Titan

First season done! I cannot WAIT for season 2.
And I would give this anime a review, but nothing I say will ever do it justice. What I will say is, drop whatever it is you are currently watching, throw away your "Anime to Watch" lists, and go see Attack on Titan. Be sure to bring a box of tissues and snuggly kittens. And a bed. You will need it for curling up in a fetal position.
In the words of anime reviewer gigguk, "If there was a real live Feels Train, this show would be it!"
The whole time I would be rocking back and forth, muttering or whimpering or cringing or crying, or asking "WHAT THE FUCK!" because this movie, once it has you in its clutches, it just won't let you go. ;__;
So go watch it!



In other unimportant news... well, compared to Attack on Titan it's unimportant...

Kshi is reopening Hogwarts, which means I can finally have my Hogwarts babies back! *snuggles Aerea and Aeternus* and I have been making new babehs! This makes me very happy ^^

My Hogwarts characters are a bit more labor intensive than usual. Mostly because I want to get as accurate with details as I can while still leaving a little creative leniency. Plotting out the Ravenswyrm family is all accurate. There really were Silver Spears in the books who used Aspen wands, and the stuff about the different wand woods and how they choose people... that was my main focus I suppose.
I also have new and fun characters like Cycnus Malfoy: a descendant of Draco... in Hufflepuff.

I'm really excited to rp there again ^^ Almost always when I join a Hogwarts-esque rp, it dies. Either I'm just a jinx or I simply arrived too late. Well, now I'm here early. So we shall see.

I finally got the new look for the Aisthesis forums down pat. I am still adding info to the new site. The new main site will not be released till sometime in two weeks.
On Tuesday I leave for Lief963's Air Force graduation. And then I am going home to Illinois. I've been in WI since Dec. 19th visiting family. But now the fun is over I suppose... I will be so happy to be in MY bed where it's WARM and where there is a DOG I can SNUGGLE! ;__; I miss Ursani.... *sobs*

Free, Jäger der Titanen, and Wolf

I just have to share this because it's Catbug :3

Whilst I trolled all you Aisthesis lovelies with Nicholas Cage, I trolled all my Skyrim lovelies with pictures of catbug. I have decided to keep Catbug as my profile picture for Skyrim, but in true Skyrim fashion, I had to make this.

MOAR COVERS!

I like doing covers. It's my own way of creating something with art when I myself cannot draw/paint/etc. It also helps me think and process the plot bunnies that come into my head. While said plot bunnies are fun (and sometimes cute), they are bunnies. They are all over the place and rather elusive. You get a glimpse, and then pow! They run away. They are formless and fleeting, unless you catch one. And that's what making covers helps me do. It helps me play around with ideas, symbology, plot, and process. As I make them, I think of connections and characters, progressions and relationships: all that good stuff. Sometimes it's the cover that actually inspires me to choose something during NaNoWriMo. Sometimes if I'm in a jam, I make a cover to give myself a distraction while still keeping my thought process on the book. It works, and that's why I make so many. 

But this is not about cover making. Not really. I am going to show you 6 designs, but there's actually a theme to all of this, and that theme is what I want to share with you. It's a fun little writing/thinking exercise of mine (probably has been used before, I don't know).

Ever heard the title of an anime/movie and wondered what it was about?

When someone tells you, "You should watch "insert title here"!" what is the first thing that pops into your head from that title?

It started with Free. Before I actually knew what Free! Iwatobi Swim was, I just knew it as Free. And free is a very complex and convoluted word when you think about it long enough. Free? What is free? What is freedom? What does it mean? And of course, I wondered, what is the anime about?

Well, what I came up with was waaaaaaaay off from an anime about a swim club xD I actually sat down and started writing a story called "Free", which was about socially imposed oppression, the real meaning of freedom, and why those who seek to be 'good' can never be truly free. It's a very strange story to say the least that really twists up our ideas of freedom, and I probably won't really finish it xD

If you haven't heard me say it a billion times already, here's the billion and one(th?) time: I love Attack on Titan!

As I also mentioned, I was über cynical about the show as I hate riding popularity waves. But credit goes where it is due. 

At that time when I very first heard about the show, I was roleplaying demigods. But at the same time, I was lamenting how our generation has now been poisoned towards the fiction series of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. At first it was decent and all, being a satire of the Olympian gods in a modern setting, but as soon as he brought the Roman gods in and made it into something NOT satire (yet kept the Greek gods as caricatures) I started flipping tables. I then went back through the series with a fine tooth comb and realized plenty of blatant errors on the series compared to actual mythology. And it was not this particular thing that made me mad. Oh no. I totally believe that authors should be free to write as they please (well, obviously to an extent *cough* Stephanie Meyer *cough*). But the impact his books had on society produced a generation of preteens and kids who base ALL their knowledge of Greek Mythology on nothing but the PJAO series. That is an issue that I am not happy with. It's almost like our entire generation turning to the M. Night Shyamalan movie of A:TLA for ALL their information on the far superior TV show. No! Just, NO!

Where was I? Oh yah! Attack on Titan!

So while I silently stewed and wailed and gnashed my tooth at PJAO's pollution, the title "Attack on Titan" sprung up. And if y'all know your mythology, Titans were the most powerful beings in the universe (under the primordial entities of course) who were the progenitors of the Greek Gods and Goddesses. I knew that AoT was not going to be about Greek Mythology, but I played around with the idea of what if it was...

The story came first, this title and cover came later (like, last night). Jäger der Titanen is a weird mix of post-apocalypse shenanigans, Hunger Games, and, I suppose, a dash of Attack on Titan, since the main group of humans ARE in fact fighting Titans, only their Titans are legit Greek Mythology Titans, not inept giant zombies.

Per all my books, there of course would be lots of higher-ups corruption, blood and gore, character deaths, and a major sense of depressing failure and loss. Yay!

The tone was set mostly by Death Eaters, which I was also editing and tweaking during the initial idea for this story. 

The actual working title for it was "Attack on Titan". But that obviously changed, as it will probably change again if I so decide. After some thought, I also switched the original main character from Arkadi Alkara to his best friend Elfen Blau. Of course, if I do finish and publish this, it will probably face a lot of hate xD Hate for the win!

Oh, and Jäger der Titanen means Hunter of Titans. ^^

There is not much to say about this final book. Unlike the previous two, it is not from an anime title. It's simply called "Wolf", and it will be my take on a werewolf story. The main character is named Mai, and he's in a pack. And shtuff happens that's really bad...

Anyway, it was sort of born from seeing so many UBER SHITTY AS FUCK werewolf stories on wattpad. The carbon copied "I'm Ebony Dark death dementia raven way and my life is crappy and I got rejected by the alpha even though I'm his twu wuv and his SOULMATE!" just kinda made me want to cry. What has happened to creativity and why? WHY???!!!

Thankfully there are people like Liam and my friend FlyOn who are good at writing original and AWESOME shifter stories (wolf or otherwise) and thank GOD that I have other friends like Fili and Dawny and Cel and everyone else who have heads on their shoulders.

Yet Another Rp Dilemma

Ugh.
You know how it goes.

So, I was looking over some of my old sites, and the harder I looked, the more I wanted to finish them, and the more I wanted to finish them, the more I wanted to roleplay on them. Etcetera.
Here's the thing though: I already got a bunch. Although the majority of other people's rps that I was on are currently on hiatus, I still own quite a few. And while the quantity of sites I own are not that big a number, the scale is rather overwhelming. It takes me at the LEAST an hour and a half to get caught up on all the Aisthesis plots and get an rp starting off again.
Now, I have been talking to a few of my faithful buddies, and we have determined that one of my next Big Three (Infinite Sorrow, Mercury, TaWei) is definitely going to open. I am taking votes.

So the next site I want to open is not going to be an Epic Scale like one of those. It's going to be a smaller scale, more on par with my half-abandoned one Dark Easter Rising.

My current rp sites are: Asithesis, Skyrim, Gijinka, Where Dreams Are Reality and Tragedia Rex.
I also have some experimental ones that don't exactly count: Iron Kings and Hunger Games.
And I am a part of: Janlea City, Land of Desai, Chromacity, and Rynoa.
I am a part of: Alignments and Wired Life, but they don't exactly count...

So technically I only rp on 9 sites. And even then, I don't rp on them consistently. So it's more like 4.
That's a big low for me. o.o

As I said, the next site I would open (not including one of the epic scale) will be smaller-ish. After talking to Midnight, I have determined that I will finish about 3 or 4 of my smaller sites, then put up a poll. The winner of that poll will have rp places and a join page added and I will actually open it.
That will at least be satisfactory. :3
So we shall see.

"Watch Attack on Titan" They Said, "It Will Be Fun", They Said

I always am uber cynical and cautious of anime that is so hyped up, such as Sword Art Online and Attack on Titan. I'm not a hipster or some crap, but I don't like going with the crowd. It's not be 'cool' or 'edgy', it's just because the popular stuff usually sucks. Like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, or Twilight.
So whenever I go into something that is popular, I go in with utmost caution, or I just don't go in at all.
With Attack on Titan, I heard nothing but good about it. It made me nervous, so I didn't touch it all year. Well, two days ago, that all changed. I figured "just do it already!". So I did.
And I have never been the same since O.O
The violence, the conflict, the struggle, the hopelessness, the human reaction: it's all so PERFECT!
That episode 5 though o.o
I will never get over it. Never.
Yah, I'm a fan now. The animation is smooth, the drawing style and colorization is beautiful, the voices (japanese) are perfect, and the storytelling is superb. There's never much of a dull moment, and it's quite the roller coaster of emotion.
And when people tell you "no character is safe on that show" they were NOT KIDDING! O.O
Ugh, that episode 5 ;__;
I'm on episode, uh, 13 or something now (I forget). And I am loving every violent, thrilling second of it.
Basilisk has been put on hold for now (sorry, Basilisk) along with the other anime I was watching. Eventually I do want to go back and watch Darker Than Black and Zetusen no Tempest over again so I can write some reviews for those, since they are such fantastic anime. As well as Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom. But at the moment, it's time to turn the lights down low, grab the popcorn and some tissues, and watch some SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN!
