What the What?
It's been almost a year since I did anything with this blog, holy cow O.O
I swear I'll be on a bit more, especially leading up to NaNo. I've just been so busy. Crazy how life does that to you >.>
I will also be working more on my Website Prometheus blog as well as a new blog I will be doing for my refashion designs once I start getting more into that foray. Yay!

NaNo 16: That was someone -or rather something- else.

Blargh.
Tomorrow I leave on my personal little roadtrip woot!
First stop is in Indiana to meet my online friend Jacob. Saturday I go to Ohio to meet my larp buddies Marshall and Robin. Then Sunday I go to Michigan to meet Cel (omfg so excite). Then back down to Indiana to hang with a friend and help them out (name withheld for privacy).
So I'm cranking out a bunch of words today since I'll be on the road a lot this weekend and won't have a lot of time/I'll be really tired.
Blargh.

NaNo 15: Bide his time, work patiently, ignore the pain.

We're halfway through NaNo and I just woke up two hours ago. Off to a great start already.
I'm also pretty behind in my wordcount. Still sitting at 17k. Oi vey. Well, today I will be buckling down and getting this stuff rewritten.
For real life stuff, during my writing breaks, I am clearing out my entire LARP inventory and cleaning my room. Ah D:
I can't begin to describe the emotional turmoil I'm in right now. What a mood to start writing.

NaNo 14: Sincerely ~ a Jellyfish

So, the Niitari is going on a soul searching journey. And Niitari is writing about it in her new diary called "The Journey of a Jellyfish". Currently, it's just in pieces on my facebook wall as well as the word document it's being typed in. I will probably be putting up the pieces along with pictures and such during the December months on here when I have nothing better to do.
Meantime, I hit a mid-writing crisis. Much as I'm all about embracing the raw, unedited glory of the true to it's name rough draft process, I was struck by a rather generous lack of sustenance to my characters and plot. Who were my characters even? What fueled them? What drove them to the actions they committed? Why are they even going on the path they're going on? It didn't make enough sense.
The three are on a dangerous and gory journey. The Eye of Rah, a mysterious device made by Bustopher's mother, must be destroyed per her dying wish. All they know is that if the enemy uses the device as a weapon, it will destroy the world Bustopher's parents gave their lives to create.
So while that sounds nice, my problem lies with the question "why should anyone besides Bustopher give a flying f*k?"
Like yah, the "destroy the world" sounds pretty ominous and important and all, but it's the world Bustopher's PARENTS wanted. How do the characters even know that it's what they want too? What even IS the world that his parents wanted? Does anyone know?
Cause I honestly don't.
And that's not a good.
Their motive for helping him was pretty much summed up in these completely uninspired lines of dialogue from Pennylane:
“Well, I don’t really know all that you guys are talking about, but, I know if I loved somebody, I’d want to help them, so I think I understand what Bustopher wants to do. And since you guys have helped me, I think I should help you back.”
If by help you mean ripped you away from the cushiest, pampered life ever and forced you to, ah, do some morally questionable things, then yes. Helping.........

If I could have one wish, I would wish that my friends would never feel depression again. Seriously, it sucks, and I feel horrible when my friends are going through it cause I can empathize. I love my friends so much.

NaNo 10: It was her final wish, her final words to me.

Spent most of the day getting Dovahkiin, her meds, and her all situated at home. She's definitely much more cheerful. I'm so grateful :3
On to writing *cracks knuckles* Let's do dis!

Wrote almost 1k in a half hour. Noice....
The cats now have a cat tree. They absolutely love it. Kyrie and Senpai were all over it. Dovahkiin has yet to notice it exists lol.

10,593 words and still going! Woot woot!

I hit 12k and then took a break to make more *gasp* covers!!!! So much fun. I really should do like a patreon or something for them.... sigh.
My writing is very choppy and my style has regressed to that of a sixth grader, but I'm not going for epic prose. I'm just trying to get this story done. In fact, I plan to actually complete this novel by the time I hit 50k.
So, I apologize for the serious lack of beauty in these raw rough chapters.

This sucks.
Oh well, carry on.
I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me on this: I'm pretty sure that I feel so blah because my writing is so blah. I'm used to stuff like Write This Down where epic prose and glorious syntax and swirling stunning visuals for days just waterfalled out of me like cray cray. But this NaNo I'm actually sitting down and just getting the story out for the sake of getting the story out. And it's driving me bonkers of course because it's not perfect or beautiful whatsoever. I just need to take a minute here and there to breathe, let it go, and keep going. Yah.... okay time for some Funyuns.

I'm at 14,208 words. I've written a total of 5431 today. I feel mega accomplished whoot!
The story is just getting good. The kids have GUNS! Well, the boys do. Pennylane is a little too young to heft a semi auto rifle lol.
Ahhhh Dawny's writing is so gooooood. I feel hella inadequate. Oh well. Back to writing xD

I'm a little exhausted from so much writing. I'm so pumped that I got so many chapters done, but now I'm trying to decide how to start chapter 9. Ah well. I'll leave that for tomorrow.
Tomorrow I plan to go to a write-in in Green Bay. Ahhhh! So scary/exciting ^^
